Death toll rises to 6 after coach slips into icy river in China

CHANGCHUN -- The death toll in a coach accident has increased to six after the vehicle with 37 people on board slipped into an icy river in Tonghua, Northeast China's Jilin province, Saturday morning.

The injured have been rushed to hospital, and the cause of the accident is being investigated.

The long-distance coach was en route from Shenyang, capital of Liaoning Province, to the city of Linjiang, Jilin, when it suddenly veered off the road in Tonghua, at 9:43 am, and was partly submerged by the water.
