After three weeks of construction, the 32nd China Harbin Sun Island International Snow Sculpture Art Expo kicked off on Monday at Sun Island Park in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province.

The 107-meter-long main snow sculpture Proud Phoenix in the Snow welcomed its first visitors at the expo, which runs from Dec 23 to the end of Feb 2020 and is one of the most important parts of the city's ice and snow festival.

More than 100 sculptors spent nine days on the giant snow sculpture that uses 33,000 cubic meters of snow.
