These are the international events under the spotlight for the week starting Jan 13.

President Xi to pay state visit to Myanmar

At the invitation of Myanmar's President U Win Myint, President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to Myanmar from Jan 17 to 18.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

China and Myanmar forged diplomatic ties on June 8, 1950.
