The novel coronavirus epidemic will change the development model and create new growth points for many Chinese companies, an expert specializing in the development of State-owned enterprises said.

Li Jin, chief researcher at the China Enterprise Research Institute in Beijing, believes due to people's demand, businesses including e-commerce, express delivery, consumer finance, home entertainment, games and online video will benefit the most amid the epidemic.

The current situation has pushed the application spread of new technologies such as 5G communications, cloud gaming, AR and VR, service robots and drones, as well as cross-industry collaboration in building large-scale facilities within a short period for emergency purposes. It will create huge business opportunities in both home and global markets, Li said.

For SOEs, the operational experience, new technologies and solutions gained recently will be useful to develop the market after the epidemic, in particular in areas such as modern logistics, 5G infrastructure development, artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, biomedicine, new financial technology and civil aviation.
