Oppo will attend MWC 2020 as scheduled

Chinese smartphone maker Oppo said on Tuesday that it has decided to participate in the Mobile World Congress 2020 as scheduled later this month and will present its latest product and leading-edge technology during the event.

The company said since the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak, OPPO has been closely observing its development and impact. After comprehensive self-evaluation and preparation, it decided to participate in MWC 2020 as scheduled.

MWC is the largest mobile event in the world and will be held in Barcelona later this month.

Besides complying with the latest regulations of GSMA, the organizer of MWC, China's health authorities and the WHO, OPPO said it also will abide by a string of measures for further prevention.

Oppo said all staff and participants will be required to have their temperature taken and use hand sanitizer before entering the OPPO event. Masks will be provided if participants need them.

Another Chinese smartphone vendor, Vivo, announced on Tuesday that it has decided to withdraw from MWC 2020, given the novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak.
