US Dow closes up more than 1,300 points

NEW YORK - US stocks closed sharply higher on Thursday with the Dow surging more than 1,300 points, despite record-breaking jobless claims in the country.
The Dow rose 6.38 percent to 22,552.17, the S&P 500 was up 6.24 percent to 2,630.07, and the Nasdaq was up 5.60 percent to 7,797.54.
