In the video, Tianjin Grand Theatre Deputy General Manager Hainv Xiao, a German citizen and music expert, noted in German that the theatre appreciated the recording of the symphony in February, and that it "inspired us with courage and power".

She expressed hope that the musicians of Wiener Symphoniker would protect themselves during the pandemic and give another outstanding performance in Tianjin "after the pandemic is over in the near future".

The symphony had planned to perform Beethoven's works in Tianjin to commemorate the 250th anniversary of his birth in June. However, the performance had to be postponed because of the pandemic.

Xu Jian, vice-general manger of Beijing Poly Theatre Management Co, the parent company of Tianjin Grand Theatre, said: "We will not forget the warmth and courage of the overseas musicians, and we believe we will have the opportunity to enjoy a grand performance in the near future."
