1 killed, 7 injured in blast in SW Pakistan

ISLAMABAD - At least one person was killed and seven others were injured when a blast went off in Pakistan's southwest Quetta city on Tuesday, police and local media said.
According to the police in the area, the explosion occurred in the Turbat Bazaar area of Quetta, the provincial capital of the country's southwestern Balochistan province.
The blast occurred near a car and the vehicle caught fire after the explosion, police officials told media, adding that the window panes of nearby buildings were also shattered due to the impact of the blast.
After the blast, security forces and rescue teams rushed to the site and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.
Security forces condoned off the area and kicked off a search operation. The nature of the explosion has not been officially confirmed yet.
No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the blast yet.
