HOUSTON - The United States Coast Guard confirmed that two bodies of missing crew members of a dredging boat were found on Saturday after an explosion a day earlier, local media reported.

According to the US Coast Guard, two other crew members remain missing and the search continues in the Gulf of Mexico waters near the Texas port city of Corpus Christi.

According to authorities, the explosion and fire happened Friday morning when a dredging boat struck a submerged natural gas pipeline near the port of Corpus Christi.

Authorities said the fire on the boat was distinguished Friday night after the vessel broke apart and sank.

"Approximately, 6,000 feet of absorbent boom has been placed around the vessel. Another 4,000 feet of absorbent boom is available if needed. Air quality testing by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is ongoing," ABC news quoted local officials as saying.

Authorities said a full investigation is underway for this incident.
