Beijing 999, affiliated to Red Cross Society of China Beijing Branch, will provide non-first aid and air medical rescue services to Beijing residents starting Wednesday.

To increase utilization efficiency, Beijing health authorities stipulated in August that from Sept 1, 120 is the number for first aid and 999 is the number for non-first aid.

Residents can dial 999 when they want to be transferred home from hospital or be transferred from one province to another.
