Tibetan residents from Nedong district in the Tibet autonomous region received training recently in animal husbandry in Wuhan, Hubei province.

The project was supported by the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Commission of Wuhan and the Nedong district government of Tibet.

Trainees came from rural areas of Nedong district, most of them engaged in breeding businesses. For most, the trip to Wuhan was their first time out of Tibet.

Participants were provided with breeding instruction and skills training and introduced to agricultural industrialization. They were also taken to visit different breeding centers, a Han-Tibetan cultural exchange base, a modern agriculture exhibition center and the Yellow Crane Tower, or Huanghelou, a landmark in Wuhan.

The program of providing vocational training for Tibetan residents in Wuhan was initiated in 2017. Since then, vocational skills training has included cooking, rural e-commerce, planting and animal breeding. Instruction has been provided annually in different schools in Wuhan, with more than 200 trainees directly benefiting from the projects in recent years.
