All of the 54 flamingos kept at the Wuhan Zoo went through annual routine body checks this week, including being weighed, getting a vaccine and undergoing blood tests.
The birds' body checks have never been an easy job.
"It took us around five minutes to pacify them by stroking their heads, as most of the birds struggled to get loose after we captured them," said Xiong Hengqing, who cares for the birds at the zoo.
