Visitors can enjoy the convenience of its recently opened bus service connecting Changchun Longjia International Airport to major scenic spots like Songhua Lake and the Beidahu ski resort.
For those that are not into skiing, they can go to the western part of the province and attend the fishing festival, winter marathon, dragon boat competition or auto race in Songyuan city.
Wang Guochen, a senior official with the Songyuan government, says other activities such as Manchu ethnic opera will also be available to complement the winter fun.
Even in the southeast Baishan city, visitors are able to find fun activities to spend their winter vacation.
Meng Qingbin, deputy mayor of Baishan, says there are swimming and extreme skiing competitions among the more than 60 winter activities available in the city.
For those who do not know where to start from, they can look to the five routes that city officials have specially curated for tourists. Routes also cover the popular Changbaishan Luneng International Resort.
Due to the impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, there were only 2.19 million visits made during the 2019-20 winter season in Jilin province, as compared with the 2.95 million visits it had during the 2018-19 winter.
According to the provincial cultural and tourism authority, last winter season's visitor figure was more than tripled as compared with that in the 2015-16 season. Last season's figure also accounted for 15 percent of the country's total figure for winter visits.
