After a heavy snow recently in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang province, a massive painting appeared on the snow-covered playground of the city's No 2 Middle School.

Li Zhi, a 65-year-old security guard at the school, spent two days to create the image, which is themed on fighting the coronavirus.

"Without a design sketch, I just had a concept in my mind," Le said. "Then I began the creation with a shovel."

In fact, it is not the first snow painting he has made. Since becoming a security guard at the school three years ago, he has made various paintings during the winters, receiving high praise from teachers and students.

"I chose fighting COVID-19 as this year's theme to express our determination to defeat the pandemic," he said, adding that it also presents the unique charm of ice and snow to people in warmer climates.
