Chinese shares close higher Thursday

BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed higher Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 2.36 percent, at 3,436.83 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 2.23 percent higher at 13,866.37 points.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 2.61 percent to close at 2,746.58 points Thursday.
