'Their spreading of Xinjiang cotton rumors is extremely childish'

"A rumor saying that cotton-producing enterprises in Xinjiang forced the people of minority ethnic groups to pick cotton is nothing but nonsense!" said Alimjan Alijan, a Uyghur born in Xinjiang.

Alimjan Alijan is a self-employed man who is engaged in a business involving fresh flowers and interior decoration. He said over years of collaboration with cotton farmers and cotton-producing enterprises, he "never saw any enterprises forcing people of minority ethnic groups to pick cotton".
