Shi Chuanying was born in a family of Miao embroiders in Shidong town of Southwest China's Guizhou province. From 8-year-old, Shi started to learn the Miao embroidery with her mother.

In over 30 years, Shi has dedicated herself to integrating traditional Miao embroidery skills into modern handicrafts and clothing. Now, her products, including Miao costume, bag, scarf, and notebook featured with the traditional embroidery, are deeply favored by domestic and foreign merchants.

Relying on the traditional embroidery skills and wisdom, Shi not only earns more than 1.3 million yuan in annual net income, but also helps over 300 local female embroiders to earn considerable stable income.
