Art teacher makes graduation gifts to remember
What is the best gift to expect from an art teacher? How about portraits?
Huang Ruixin, who teaches art in Changsha, Hunan province, wants to use her speciality to make graduation gifts for her students at Minda Middle School.
The graduation ceremony was set for July 2, but the idea was settled on June 30, so time was pressing. Fortunately, Huang had photos of her 74 students on her phone.
"It took less time to draw on the students I am familiar with. It takes time to present their characteristics precisely through drawing," Huang said.
Of the photos on her phone, some students are having meals. Others are studying, playing or just thinking.
"I want to present their expressions and gestures naturally, but I'm also afraid of making them ugly," Huang said with a note of dismay.
In the end, the portraits were wrapped exquisitely and given to the students.
"It is convenient to take pictures with a phone. But paper portraits will be more precious, and I want them to know how much I treasure the two years I spent with them,"she said.
Students were delighted to received the gift, and some immediately changed their profile photo on WeChat to Huang's drawings.
