'The Coming One' holds season finale

The fifth season of the music reality show The Coming One by Tencent Video broadcast its finale on Oct 16. After 11 performances staged by four final-round contestants, 21-year-old Jiang Xiangui was awarded as this year's champion.

The finale was attended by the winners from previous seasons, Mao Buyi, Cai Weize, Zhang Yuqi and the Air League band, as well as Pu Shu, singer-songwriter and honorary coach in the program.

"Here, we value personality over perfection, creation over imitation, the ordinary over the authoritative. Everyone can hear everyone's voice. You're the future. You're the coming one," Mao Buyi said on the final night.

The program aims to discover songwriting talents. Since its first season in 2017, 444 young musicians, including singers, instrumentalists and rappers, have stepped on its stage, creating a total of 789 songs.
