Domestic and overseas orders for products celebrating the new year have surged in China as the holidays draw nearer.

Starting in September, a factory in Hefei, East China's Anhui province, began receiving orders for red lanterns. The factory is expected to make 8 million big red lanterns in the whole year, with annual output value surpassing 10 million yuan ($1.57 million).

As the lunar calendar's Year of the Tiger is coming, consumer demand for stuffed tiger toys has increased. Staff members are busy making the cute tigers in Guangping county, Handan city of North China's Hebei province.
