The opening ceremony of "Love Knows No Borders - Rural Revitalization, Health Care First" International Charity Sale was held in Beijing on Dec 18.
It has been 12 years since the project was launched. It is a public welfare activity to promote health and poverty alleviation in the country.
All the guests witnessed the official launch of the "Cloud Charity Sale" event, which is scheduled to last for one week on a special webpage. It offers assistance through products in the poverty alleviation flagship store on China's e-commerce platform Tmall.
Many industry leaders including XPENG, a leading Chinese smart electric vehicle company, were invited to the event.
The money raised at this year's charity sale will be used to upgrade the physical examination equipment for People's Hospital and by purchasing additional special equipment for the Maternal and Child Health Care Hospital in Yunnan province. This will enable rural people to enjoy better medical services and keep them healthy.
Twenty-two embassies, including that of Russia and Azerbaijan, along with international organizations in China such as the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank and World Intellectual Property Organization, were given the "Contribution Award", "Love Award" and "Diplomacy Award" during the ceremony.
