MIIT supports building data exchanges in Beijing, Shanghai

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said on Monday it will ramp up cultivation of a data market and support the construction of data exchanges in Beijing and Shanghai.

Minister Xiao Yaqing said it is very important to strengthen data security in digital transformation, and the ministry will strengthen supervision of industrial data.

"We will formulate important data catalogs and strengthen protection," Xiao said.
