China Daily | Updated: 2022-03-07 10:14

The annual sessions of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee are in progress, and executives of some carmakers have submitted their proposals. Here are some of the most popular ones, keeping an eye on hot issues including vehicle safety, low-carbon development and auto chips.

Chen Hong, NPC deputy and chairman of SAIC Motor Corp

Chen suggested the Chinese government promulgate policies and measures to support the low-carbon development of the automobile industry, which will be a continuation of current fiscal new energy vehicle policies and further reduce the cost of such vehicles' manufacturing, transportation and use. Chen also proposed that China should strengthen the industrial chain and low-carbon technology's research and development and innovation, and continuously improve the construction of charging piles and other supporting facilities in an effort to encourage the consumption of low-carbon products.
