China to further extend tariff exemption period for some US goods

China would further extend the period of tariff exemption for some goods imported from the United States until the end of November, according to a statement issued by the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council on Friday.

The commission decided to maintain the tariff exemption policy for 95 products from the US from April 17 to Nov 30 this year. China will continue to exempt tariffs imposed on US goods as countermeasures against the US Section 301 measures during the period, the statement said.

The Customs Tariff Commission disclosed a list of these products, including medical instruments, manufacturing and wood products. This is the seventh time China has announced tariff exemptions on imported US goods. which is also the extension of such measures for an earlier announced list of US goods in September 2021.
