"I think we are great," Hou Quanliu said. Hou, the oldest worker on the ship, has been working as an electrician for more than 40 years. He said the Pingtan Haixia Rail-Road Bridge used the electricity produced from the wind farm, and their ship has joined the construction of the bridge.

"On the sea, what I fear most is bad weather," Li said. He mentioned the typhoon that hit Jinwan in Zhujiang, South China's Guangdong province on July 31, 2019, as it caused a loss of nearly 40 million yuan ($6.1 million).

"On the ship, it is a community of common destiny. We are like a big family, and we trust and help each other," Li said.
