Inner Mongolia offers cool choice for hot summer

Genhe has leveraged its natural and cultural resources to launch various activities for tourists, including eco-tourism, leisure and vacations, folk experiences and exploration of forests, among other things.

In 2017, Genhe was awarded the title of National Forest Tourism Demonstration City and National Pilot City of Self-Driving Destinations. In 2019, it won the title of National Ecological Civilization Demonstration City. And last year it was recognized as a China Natural Oxygen Bar.

In 2021, 954,000 tourists visited the city, a year-on-year increase of 26 percent. Revenue generated from that came in at 1.15 billion yuan ($172.54 million), up 26 percent from the previous year.
