Yu Canyi showed her talent and interest in the sport when she was only 2 years old. Under the instruction of her father, she spent more than an hour every day practicing and could independently complete all the movements when she was only 27 months old.
During a national-level jump-rope competition in 2020, Yu Canyi won seven championships in different events. Her personal best performance was skipping 114 times in 30 seconds.
"For the coming international competition, I hope she can learn more about hard work and persistence in competitive sports," her father said. "I also hope the sport can help her maintain physical fitness and help if she chooses to be a professional athlete in the future."
