China's largest SUV and pickup maker Great Wall Motors sold 88,000 vehicles last month, up 19 percent year-on-year.

Of them, over 50,000 units were Haval-branded vehicles, whose sales soared 24.26 percent year-on-year.

The leading Chinese SUV brand is aiming for 80 percent of its sales to be NEVs by 2025 and will stop the sales of fuel-powered vehicles by 2030.

The carmaker showcased over 20 NEV models under marques from Haval to Poer at the Chengdu auto show held in late August.

Great Wall Motors is stepping up efforts into overseas markets. Last month, overseas sales reached 15,000 units, up 23.99 percent from the same month last year.

In terms of expanding its presence, the Wey and Ora brands are expected to start sales in Germany in the fourth quarter this year.

In Pakistan, the Haval brand saw its first model roll off its knock-down plant earlier this month.
