SAIC-GM's Chevrolet launched a new compact SUV in Changsha, Hunan province, last week with five variants priced from 139,900 yuan ($19,966) to 164,900 yuan.

The Seeker is 4,537 millimeters long with a 2,700-mm wheelbase, which provides rear passenger legroom that is competitive in the market segment.

Equipped with GM's eighth-generation 1.5-liter four-cylinder direct injection turbocharged Ecotec engine, the Seeker can generate a maximum output of 135 kilowatts and a top torque of 250 Newton meters.

It can accelerate from 0-100 kilometers per hour within 7.9 seconds and offer fuel efficiency as low as 6.5 liters per 100 km under worldwide harmonized light vehicles test procedure.

The model also adopts GM's global compact SUV platform.

Targeted at younger buyers, the Seeker comes with a Xiaoxue operating system and OnStar connectivity system, which supports remote over-the-air updates, an interactive Baidu smart online navigation system and wireless Apple CarPlay, as well as many other practical apps as standard.

The Seeker is SAIC-GM's first vehicle to be equipped with the Tune Dynamic sound system, which provides a new auditory experience under GM's partnership with world-leading audio infotainment solution provider Arkamys.
