'Going green' goal of top companies in China
Many top companies in China have set clear goals and launched realistic plans to achieve green development after the country proposed the "3060" carbon target three years ago, with significant progress made in different industries, said Tony Xiong, senior vice-president and head of strategy and business development of Schneider Electric China.
In an exclusive interview with China Daily, Xiong said China's green transformation will contribute a lot to the world, and the world cannot achieve any carbon neutral objectives without China.
As the manufacturing industry accounts for 30 percent of China's total carbon emissions, it's of vital importance to push forward sustainable development in the sector by taking advantages of digital transformation.
A report from Schneider Electric published on Sept 26 showed that a total of 54 percent of enterprises surveyed in China have reached "advanced level" in digital transformation, rising from 45 percent in 2021.
At the same time, enterprises should leverage the digital tools, such as AI technology and data models, to improve the risk resistance capability of supply chain, Xiong said.
