The Yingchun forest area in Heilongjiang province recently received flocks of migratory birds, including wild geese, egrets, oriental white storks, swans and white spoonbills. The birds stopped to rest and forage for food.

Photographers captured the spectacle of tens of thousands of birds in flight or busy searching for food — or just relaxing — as the birds prepared to continue their long seasonal journey southward.

In recent years, Yingchun has placed great emphasis on its ecological development and made significant progress in improving its environment and increasing its biodiversity.

As a result, the area now attracts large flocks of migratory birds each spring and fall due to the pleasant climate and good ecological conditions.
