Train loaded with fruit from Laos arrives in China
Currently, the designated supervision site is the most well-equipped one with the largest investment across the province. It will be a model for the future construction of such facilities, customs authorities said.
"With the subsequent use of designated supervision sites for grain and frozen aquatic products, the overall function of the Mohan Railway Port will be upgraded to a new level," said Deng Yongzhen, deputy director of Mengla Customs.
To ensure the smooth delivery of the imported fruit, China Railway Kunming Group has promoted proactive measures to enhance port clearance efficiency, such as making transportation plans and preparing port clearance materials in advance and conducting rehearsals to improve the operation process, according to Yang Jing, deputy director of Mohan Railway Station.
Saturday marked the one-year anniversary of the China-Laos railway's operation. The line has transported cross-border cargo with a total volume of more than 1.9 million tons.
