A visit to Beijing courts was livestreamed on Saturday, as a part of the nationwide weeklong campaign to improve public knowledge of the country's Constitution.

The online visit was organized by the Supreme People's Court, China's top court, to celebrate the ninth national Constitution Day, which fell on Dec 4.

In the Saturday's activity, the top court guided netizens to visit nine courts across Beijing via video link, so as to help more people know how courts work and what legal services they can enjoy in case of disputes.

During the visit, for example, judges from the Beijing Internet Court introduced how they complete all judicial procedures online and what advanced technologies have been applied in adjudication.

In the Beijing Financial Court, which was set up in March last year to specialize in handling financial disputes, judges helped netizens understand the significance of the court's establishment, showing how efficient services are provided for investors and enterprises.

In addition, the top court also popularized law knowledge about juveniles and old people by guiding netizens to visit relevant panels in the Beijing Haidian District People's Court and the Chaoyang District People's Court.

Furthermore, judges from the Miyun district told audience their judicial efforts in hearing environmental cases to netizens, while courts from Tongzhou and Fangshan districts introduced their innovation in solving disputes with mediation.

Since 2018, a weeklong campaign for introducing the Constitution and rule of law has been held nationwide. In the campaign, a series of activities will be provided for public, such as Constitution-related knowledge contests and seminars about the law-based governance.
