As coldness creeps into Europe, Chinese electric blankets have gained popularity because of the advantages of being low-cost and energy-efficient.
Xinle, Hebei province, the hometown of electric blankets, began to develop the electric blanket industry around 1980.
There are 56 major electric blanket manufacturers with an annual sales volume of 6.9 million pieces, accounting for 40 percent of the total sales volume in China.
Among them, exports account for 36 percent of the total sales, with the blankets mainly going to Russia, the United States, Japan, Chile and other countries.
