A gala marking Spring Festival was held at the Forbidden City Concert Hall in Beijing on Feb 2 featuring a variety of performances, including traditional Chinese musical instruments, dance and Peking Opera.

The gala is part of Jing Cui, an online video series launched by Beijing Overseas Cultural Exchange Center and the Forbidden City Concert Hall. With nine episodes, the online video series, showcasing traditional Chinese music, dance and handicrafts, attracted over 12 million views by the end of 2022. The online shows took the audience at home and abroad to landmarks in Beijing, such as the Great Wall, Zhongshan Park and the Summer Palace, with artists performing outdoors and indoors.

According to the online series' director, Sun Qin, who also directed the gala, the combination of Beijing's sceneries and live music and dance allowed audience to gain a fresh view of the city and its performing arts scene.
