During the 2022-23 season, the resort expanded its ski slopes from 27 to 64 on 239 hectares, making it the largest in Asia.
"We invited a professional team from New Zealand to plan, design, build and operate the extension project," said Dong Dong, director of the resort's marketing department. "These changes have driven more people to participate in the ice and snow industrial chain."
The Jilin provincial government said it aims to create a world-class ski industry, as the developing winter sports industry has invigorated the province and is expected to become a new driving force in its economy.
