Guangdong townships selected as models of rural development

Among the list, Qujie township of Xuwen county in the western coastal area of Guangdong, has long been known for its development of pineapples, with annual production volume of more than 260,000 tons.

"We have established trade platforms and multiple channels for pineapple farmers and companies to expand their sales at home and abroad," said Yang Fanfan, deputy Party chief of the Xuwen Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

Authorities in Qujie, dubbed the "sea of pineapples", have established operation, big data, pricing and trading information centers for the crop.
