Event discusses Gen Zs role in intl communications


Roughly 500 local and foreign students from universities in Shanghai attended an event in Shanghai on Thursday that kicked off a series of activities addressing Generation Z's role in international communication.
The activities were held by China Daily and the publicity office of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee.
Zhao Jiaming, member of the Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Party Committee and head of the publicity department, and Qu Yingpu, publisher and editor-in-chief of China Daily, initiated the activities at the event, which was organized by 21st Century and attended by experts and journalists specializing in international communication.
The series of activities will include forums, themed reporting and English speaking contests aimed at teenagers in countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, according to the two sides.
