It showcases the high-quality development of the capital and the achievements of building Beijing into an international exchange center, promoting mutually beneficial cooperation and the implementation of related projects, Lei said.

Li Yan, executive deputy head of the district, said that Dongcheng is strengthening its dominant industries such as finance, culture and information services, promoting the transformation and upgrading of the service industry under industrial integration, and providing a first-class business environment for investors and entrepreneurs from home and abroad.

Martin Mpana, ambassador of Cameroon to China, said that it was a surprise to see such a beautiful sky garden in Dongcheng, which complements the nearby Forbidden City and vice versa.

Dongcheng is a microcosm of the rapid integration development of Chinese tradition and modernity, Mpana said.

Dongcheng is impressive with its development model integrating culture with other sectors, which contributes to the protection and inheritance of historic culture, some diplomats said. They added that investors and entrepreneurs may have more of a sense of happiness and belonging there.

The event was hosted by Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic Missions and the Beijing government's information office and foreign affairs office, and organized by the Dongcheng government. The Foreign Diplomats Experiencing Beijing series of activities hope to promote pragmatic communication and cooperation between China and foreign countries in diverse fields and at all levels.
