Lost in Harvest, a new film that aims to reflect the struggles and aspirations of the generation born in the 1990s, is scheduled to be released later this year.

The movie is directed by emerging filmmaker Ma Xiaogang and casts young stars Zhou Zhengjie, Lu Yangyang, Luo Mingjie and Hu Jiaxin.

Adapted from true stories, the film traces the life paths of two childhood best friends, following their journey as they go from being partners who co-launch a startup business to becoming rivals in the highly competitive business world.

Ma said that during the 13th Beijing International Film Festival, the oldest members of the post-1990 generation have already exceeded 30 years of age and may have accumulated a wealth of experience and understanding about life after striving for more than a decade.

"Some of them have started to miss their youth. The movie is a nostalgic story that aims to strike a chord with this generation," he said.

Producer Ren Wei, who also attended the festival, revealed that the project preparation began in June 2021 and the filming took place in 2022. The movie is currently undergoing post-production procedures and is planned to be released later this year.
