Belt and Road book for younger readers

The release of Children's BRI Stories, a full-color picture book that interprets the essence of the Belt and Road Initiative for youngsters, was held on June 16.

Through engaging stories and illustrations, the book introduces young readers to the background, goals, and significance of the initiative as well as the profound history history and diverse cultures of the countries involved in the initiative.

Its author Wang Yiwei, deputy director of the Academy of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era at Renmin University of China, said that it's important for him to grasp the theories behind the initiative when writing the book.

"Writing the book requires a heart full of love and using a clear and accessible writing style that could resonate with the youngsters," he said.

Luo Linquan, vice-president of the China Public Diplomacy Association, said the book integrates the theory of the Belt and Road Initiative with the history and culture of the countries involved in the initiative in an easy-to-understand language in the form of illustrations and texts, showing the unique charm of different civilizations. He said that this book will become a window for young people to learn about the initiative and broaden their horizons.

Li Lingling, director of Anhui Children's Publishing House which is the book's publisher, added that the book offers young readers a glimpse into the distinctive allure of different civilizations while conveying China's long-standing diplomatic attitude.

"The book helps children gain a clear understanding of the great efforts China is making for the development of humanity amid the unprecedented global changes of our time," she said.
