The China Tourism Office in Rome is presenting a series of short bilingual videos on intangible cultural heritage through various social media platforms. The videos center around items such as Kunqu Opera, taichi and guqin, showcasing their contemporary resonance.
Kunqu Opera incorporates songs in the Suzhou dialect, body movement, martial arts and dance. The performance involves expression of specific emotions with exacting attention to detail.
Taichi is popular among people of all ages, genders and ethnicities in China. Its benefits for physical and mental health have also attracted enthusiasts worldwide.
Guqin, a traditional musical instrument, was highly favored by scholars and literati in ancient China. One of the most classic guqin pieces is High Mountain and Flowing Water, which is associated with the legendary friendship between a guqin musician Yu Boya and his biggest fan Zhong Ziqi.
