Firefighters impress at firefighting skill contest

The third Blue Flame Firefighting and Rescue Contest, a three-day event, kicked off in Huadu district, Guangzhou, Guangdong province on Thursday.

The first day of the contest included hook-and-ladder rescue and a 100-meter firefighting obstacle event. Subsequent events will include rescue skills, rescue on water and drone control in firefighting and rescue scenarios.

This year's contest also marks the first time for the participation of firefighters from Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions.
