Chery rolls out performance Arrizo 8

Chinese automaker Chery launched the performance version of its sedan Arrizo 8 last week. The compact model is available in three variants, priced from 129,900 yuan ($18,144) to 146,900 yuan.

It measures 4,780 millimeters in length, 1,843 mm in width and 1,469 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,790 mm.

The model sports a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, generating a maximum output of 187 kilowatts and a top torque of 390 Newton meters.

The performance version has a sporty design. It has three driving modes, two steering modes and two braking modes. It accelerates from zero to 100 km per hour in around 7 seconds, with fuel consumption per 100 km standing at 6.8 liters.

It features Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8155 chip, which ensures a smooth onboard operating system. Other features include a 24.6-inch display, 256-color ambient lighting, 18-inch sporty wheels, a 12-speaker Sony audio system and advanced driving-assist functions.

As one of the major Chinese carmakers, Chery sold 740,000 vehicles in the first half of the year, up 56 percent year-on-year.
