Danny Alexander, vice-president for policy and strategy at the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, has urged concerted global efforts to put climate change at the top of the policy agenda at all times.
Climate change is already having direct consequences for people all over the world, Alexander said in an exclusive interview with China Daily, citing the heat waves, flooding and droughts that the mankind has experienced.
"So it is time for all the governments to really step up their financing and to step up their commitments to work together to achieve these (climate) goals. If they don't do that, we will fail and we will all suffer the consequences," he said.
