Made-in-China cruise ship completes trial voyage
Adora Magic City, China's first domestically made large cruise ship, completed its first trial voyage on Monday, one day ahead of its schedule, according to China State Shipbuilding Corp (CSSC) Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co Ltd.
During the eight-day trial voyage, which involved 1,217 people, the 135,500-gross-tonnage vessel completed tests of key systems, equipment performance and two critical technologies. All test results met the required standards, according to the Shanghai-based shipyard.
The vessel will now enter the stage of equipment and system debugging, as well as the final stage of interior decoration before its delivery, which is expected to take place by the end of 2023.
The 323.6-meter-long and 37.2-meter-wide cruise ship can accommodate a maximum of 5,246 guests. It will have a luxury hotel, cinemas and a water park on board.
