Digital technology transforms gas field
The Sulige Gas Field, located north of the Ordos Basin in Inner Mongolia, has adopted digital technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence to build an intelligent infrastructure for natural gas exploration, gathering and processing.
New technologies, including digital well clusters, automated gas gathering stations, robot inspections, unmanned aerial vehicle inspections, as well as intelligent sensing and production management, have been widely applied in production areas of the field.
The field, operated by PetroChina Changqing Oilfield Company, is the largest integrated gas field with proven reserves in China.
It is the first in the country to achieve a daily output that surpasses 100 million cubic meters and an annual production that exceeds 30 billion cubic meters.
