As of 19:00 on Monday, 5,855 residents in the Mayu area of Beijing's Shijingshan district have been relocated to safer places as the nearby Yongding River saw its water level rise significantly. More than 4,000 of them are staying at Shougang Park, one of the venues for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, while the rest are taking shelter with their relatives and friends.
