Fourty-three rescuers in three batches from the Dalian Wanzhong Emergency Rescue Team traveled to Shulan, Jilin province, to help with flood relief efforts in the aftermath of Typhoon Doksuri.

Having well-equipped gear and skilled members, the team was chosen to participate in the search and rescue operations in four villages in Kaiyuan town, which was severely impacted by heavy rainfall and flooding that left roads and bridges destroyed and water and electricity supplies disrupted.

"In addition to seven rescue vehicles, we had four assault boats, but they were only utilized on the first day when the water level was still high," said Zhang Yongdong, captain of the team.
