For Eiko Kataoka, a member of the Women's Democratic Club in Tokyo, various methods should have been thoroughly considered by Japan instead of the discharge plan of Fukushima nuclear waste water.
"If the water is truly as safe as they claim, then it should be safe for other daily uses as well," Kataoka said.
Kataoka is among multiple groups of people who held a rally in front of the Prime Minister's official residence on Friday, requesting the government to halt unilateral ocean release of nuclear contaminated water without the agreement of concerned parties and to explore alternative options.
